The earliest history we have on the track was from the early fifties. At that time the track was dirt with no fence and at the showgrounds. Names mentioned are Skippy (Frank) Dalton and Robin Taylor. The Original Callers Shed was timber with the uprights being bush trees. There is sure to be many good stories of cyclist on the track, know as Scrubby Cyclist. One of which includeds Nev Wright, who upon rounding the final bend, unleashed his sprint and came flying off the fenceless track to end up wrapped around the a calling shed post.
